Welcome to the Warrenton-Hammond School District website. Our goal is to provide important and timely information via the web. It will be an on-going process as we develop the site and provide easier access to information and transparency to district operations. It is my desire that students, staff, parents, alumni, and community members will utilize this site frequently to find out what is happening in our schools. It is an honor to have been selected as the new Superintendent for the Warrenton-Hammond School District. I look forward to the opportunity to work with you in educating the youth of our community. Thank you for entrusting me with the responsibility of ensuring that your children have the very best education possible. I pledge to provide positive and collaborative leadership while maintaining a child-centered approach to decision-making. I'd like to thank the school board for their faith in my abilities to lead Warrenton-Hammond School District. It is an awesome task and one that I take very seriously. This administration will be noted for three things: an unrelenting focus on children, integrity, and transparency. Every decision we make will be based on those values. The Warrenton-Hammond School District serves more than 850 students with a wide range of interests and needs. Our mission is to develop citizens who can achieve academic excellence, model integrity, as well as respect authority and one another. In our efforts to accomplish our mission, we will need to maximize all available resources to create a learning environment that ensures all students gain the knowledge, skills and character to be successful lifelong learners. We must move away from the conflicts of the past that pitted adults within our community against the actions of the Board and turn our attention to focus solely on the needs of our children. We must embrace our shared mission of dramatically improving student achievement and serving our families. For the sake of our children and their future, "Let's Work Together and Make Good Things Happen." We have terrific students, an excellent staff, and a community that cares about the value of an education. Warrenton-Hammond School District will offer our residents a solid academic program in a cost-effective manner. We're large enough to provide a variety of classes for our students and good services for the entire community. At the same time, we continue to maintain the family orientation and "hometown" feel that has always been the hallmark of this community. We are justifiably proud of our schools. Please consider this a personal invitation to contact me any time. We're here to educate our children, but we're also here to help citizens of the district whenever we can. You can call me during regular business hours at 503-861-2281 or utilize my email at any time by typing in lanningg@whsd.k12.or.us.
